WHat is a volcanic Eruption and how does it happen?

It is a stream of gas and ash that is violently ejected to a height of several miles. This occurs when molten rocks, volcanic ashes, and other gases are emitted from a magma chamber beneath the ground through an opening on the earth's surface.

How much damage can volcanic eruptions do?

When a volcanic eruption happens, lava can damage the area around the volcano; it can burn anything in the way, including houses, trees, and people. To add, earthquakes and land slides can occur, destroying the area caught in it.

Due to the Philippines geographical location, within the Pacific Ring of Fire it is more susceptible to volcanic eruptions compared to other countries.
